Why I Started My Online Home Business With A Plug-in Profit Site

I have been asked a few times recently why I chose the Plug-in Profit site to start my own online home business as opposed to building a website of my own.

There are so many reasons that make it simple for me to answer this question. Back in April 2006 I did not know anything about html and so I would not have had any idea how to start an online home business let alone build a website of my own.

This review is given from the perspective of what you’d call a “newbie” and one who is from outside the USA.

I have been looking for a way to earn some residual income from the internet for about a year now. I have joined several and have been very disappointed to the point where I formed an opinion that Americans were just “big on promises” but very short on delivery. After a while, one becomes very skeptical of the promises made on-line. Since you can’t see or hear the person making the promise, how can you trust anyone?

Despite this, I decided to take a chance on Stone. There was something in my gut telling me that this guy might be real. Since the cost of entry was rather small, I decided to try again.

Bottom-line, I rate Stone’s site as one of the best guides I have encountered on the internet. I am on Day 4 now and I have to say that Stone has the talent to simplify things so a “newbie” like me can understand it. I am starting from 0 and am eager to learn.

My skepticism began to arise when at the end of everyday, I discover that I have to “spend” more to become successful. However, the way it is done is so “gentle” and not pressure-laden that I don’t mind spending a little bit of money. After all who can earn without investing on marketing.

I can’t believe that I already have 2 websites that are active on line with six potential income streams. All that is needed now is to get a lot of people exposed to it.

I really liked the PIPS page that opened up in front of me on my home computer. It was fantastic! I am new with all of this and am still getting my head around it all, especially the web site set up. Is The Plug-In Profit Site Business Model A Scam? A No-Hype Look

I thought I would offer a straight look at the Plug-In Profit Site business model so readers can decide for themselves if they want to use this opportunity to learn Internet Marketing and grow an internet based home business.

The Plug-In Profit Site (PIPS) is a free website, built for you, by Stone Evans (the creator of PIPS). The PIPS website is basically an Affiliate Marketing website. It comes pre-loaded with Affiliate programs that people can join. When they do join from your link, they enter your downline. You will then either earn an instant commission or will earn a commission on sales they make. Either way, it is just an easy way to learn affiliate marketing.

Now, on the basic PIPS website you are offering different programs that others, who are looking to start their own business, can join. You will also be offering products for sale, that when purchased, will provide you with a commission. In addition to your website, you will also be promoting the PIPS sales page. The PIPS sales page is the same sales page that you will have signed up on. However, now you are promoting the PIPS sales page using your affiliate link. What this means is that now when someone joins Plug-In Profit Site through your affiliate link they are coming into your downline and you have the ability to make commissions under all programs that they join through PIPS (currently SFI, Empowerism, Host4Profit, Success University and Leisure Audio Books). So it is like making 5 sales in one. And the great thing about this is that you can earn residual income (ongoing, monthly income) under all 5 programs.

What about the website you have built for you?
Good question. When most people enter the world of Internet Marketing, they don’t have the knowledge to build their own websites. They aren’t sure how to do it, how to make it look professional and how to make it function properly. Enter the Plug-In Profit Site. You get your own website, but to make it easy, the initial website you are given looks exactly the same for everyone. Only the affiliate links are different as the links on your website directly benefit you. But who really wants a cookie-cutter website? Some people do and some don’t. So, while you learn about Internet Marketing, you have the pre-built website but that website is completely, totally customizable. So you are not stuck with the original site unless you love it so much you want to keep it. (that does happen)

If you want to change the website you have a couple of options. You can learn to do it yourself, as many people do, or you can pay someone to change it for you (again…many do that too). I recommend learning to change it yourself as it will come in handy for when you want to make changes quickly.

What Are The Costs?
The Plug-In Profit Site is completely free. The set-up of that site is completely free. But there still are costs. Here is what the initial costs look like:

* You will need a hosting company to host your website. That is done through Host4Profit and that is 24.95 a month. Now, Host4Profit is one of the mandatory programs to join so even though you are paying $24.95 a month, you make $10.00 a month on every referral you send that uses Host4Profit as their web-hosting company. So, refer 10 new accounts to Host4Profit (and these do NOT have to be PIPS sites) and you will receive $100.00 a month in commissions just from Host4Profit.
* You need to purchase a domain name. Host4Profit will register a domain name for you and I believe it is $15.00 a year however, there are cheaper sources to get a domain name and you don’t have to get it through Host4Profit. Find a domain name, pay whatever price you are able to pay through whatever company and then you will point it to Host4Profit. (Host4Profit will provide instructions on how to do this). I purchased my domain name through 1and1 Internet Services and I pay $5.99 a year. I then just pointed my domain name to Host4Profit server. It was extremely easy.

That is it for the mandatory expenses. Now for the initial optional expenses:

* Your PIPS site comes with a 400 day pre-written newsletter. You have to have an auto-responder service in order to utilize the newsletter and so you are asked to create an account through GetResponse. Now, in order to get all 216 pre-written emails, you have to upgrade your GetResponse account. They have different package options and it doesn’t matter which upgrade you choose. Initially, the cheapest is $17.95 a month. However, if you purchase one of the other options, you pay more up-front but you pay less often. So it is really up to you. Another option you have, in order to cut your initial costs down, is to sign up for GetResponse and choose the free account. Then wait until your business starts growing and you start building a list and then it will be worth it to get the paid version. But it is entirely up to you.
* You will need to sign up for Empowerism which has an initial fee of 24.95 and then 19.95 a month thereafter. However, you do not have to keep a paid membership if you don’t want to. Yes, as with anything, there are perks to having the paid membership but you will still earn a commission on the free account.
* Success University is another program that you are requested to join. However, the monthly membership is extremely high (almost $50.00 a month) and I personally did NOT join it. You don’t have to join it, nor do you have to advertise it. I took all the SU advertising off of my website. It is still a requested program to join if someone joins PIPS through me but I don’t have an affiliate link for them. So my sponsor’s affiliate link is automatically placed in the PIPS sales page instead of mine.

Now, when you sign up for PIPS you receive a BUNCH of free bonuses. One of those bonuses is the 30 Day to Success Training Guide. In it there are a ton of suggestions on how to grow your business. Some cost money and some do not. It is entirely up to you on what you spend your money on to grow YOUR business. You do not HAVE to purchase any of the extras that Stone talks about. These are “optional” not “required”.

If you sign-up for PIPS and you are curious about some of the suggested paid forms of advertising/list-building, etc. just ask your sponsor or ask in the PIPS forum. You will receive an honest answer. I do not sugar-coat and neither do most of the members of the PIPS forum.

Okay, so what is the bottom-line here regarding the Plug-In Profit Site? Is it a scam? Absolutely not. It is merely an easy way for people to advertise affiliate programs and have the ability to earn multiple streams of income.

Is it a get rich quick program?
No. You can make money quickly but don’t expect to be rolling in the dough in 45 days. You have to work your business and how much you make is entirely up to you. You have to work hard, consistently and be willing to learn and try new approaches. Find what works for you, play to your strengths and you will find success.

I do make money, on a monthly basis, as an Internet Marketer. Some is through affiliate programs I promote, other money comes from product sales. In the end, everything I learned, I learned through PIPS. It is one of the best training guides you will come across. The PIPS training, coupled with the PIPS forum provides a fantastic internet marketing education.

I hope that this information was helpful to you. You CAN succeed as an Internet Marketer. You just have to be willing to put in the time and effort.

I joined a few weeks ago, having previously tried a number of other opportunities without success, and the PIPS opportunity is the best I have come across so far. The 30 days were easy to understand and follow.

I came to Plug In Profit because I was a member of Success University. I knew of Stone Evans because of a movie Success University put out. That gave Stone the credibility I needed to join. So I did about two months ago.

When I read about the 30 day training I knew I was in the right place. My only problem was that I needed more money than I had thought. However, within the 30 days of training there is several marketing methods outlined that you can use to market your Plug In Profit Site without spending money. So that is what I am concentrating on at this point. Because of the 30 day training I now know how to advertise using article marketing, blogging, forums, and links.
I have learned so much, even HTML, sort of!

The only gripe I have is with Get Response. I can not use it because of the type of bank credit card I use. That means I do not get 400 e-mail responses and the 216 newsletters! That is a big deal to me. I do not understand why Stone would use a Polish business (Get Response) instead of Aweber which is American. It must have to do with money. I also wish Stone cared enough to find a way to get me the newsletters and e-mail responses so I can load them into an Aweber account. For some reason he will not answer my request. Kinda sad…

I do believe if you have a couple of thousand advertisement dollars to invest in a Plug In Profit Site you could be in profit within a couple of months. The free advertising method I’m using will just take a while longer…..and I can’t wait!!
